Stevie Nicks on Taylor Swift

Time magazine is making headlines for an updated list that is posted once per year that included the Top 100 people who have affected our world the most. Generally, these people include presidents and celebrities who have given back and sparked change in the world. Remember that this is a worldwide Top 100, but it probably wouldn’t be difficult for you to name some people who are featured on the list.

Something that they did differently this year was asking Stevie Nicks what her thoughts on Taylor Swift were. She was asked just after the Grammy Awards and her reaction to the question was “When I first got the call from Taylor Swift about performing with her at this year’s Grammy Awards, I really didn’t want to do it. She’s 20 years old, 5 foot 11 inches. and slender. I’m 40 years older and, to be frank, neither of the other two things!” Stevie Nicks continued to mention how Taylor Swift was rather determined to have her perform and how childlike the singer was.

Stevie added “This girl writes the songs that make the whole world sing, like Neil Diamond or Elton John.” Stevie also said that she “still walks around singing her song ‘Today was a Fairytale.’” While Taylor writes songs that might appeal to 14 year old girls her music has a connection with everyone. What woman doesn’t want a man to make her think she’s beautiful no matter what she’s wearing and make her happy. Taylor Swift writes for everyone to listen and she does it in a fantastic way.
