On Tuesday, Fleetwood Mac performed in concert at the Verizon Center, located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C. For the third consecutive show, the band dazzled the audience with an unblemished 23-song concert set list. The growing confidence in new songs “Sad Angel” and “Without You” bodes well for their performance in future set lists. Lindsey Buckingham once again announced the upcoming, eagerly-anticipated release of an EP containing new material, slightly modifying its status from “in a few days” to “any day now.”
The Twittersphere continued to be abuzz about the release, but more often, fans tweeted their praise of the show, everything from “Stevie Nicks is a goddess!” to “The Landslide brought us down!!!!!!” Rolling Stone contributing editor and Stevie Nicks fan Rob Sheffield, who attended the show, tweeted “so grateful to Stevie Nicks for all 18 of her twirls (yes I counted) during the guitar solo of “Stand Back” tonight #fleetwoodmac.”
Stevie dedicated “Landslide” to Mick Fleetwood’s children Ruby and Tessa, who were in the audience.
Fleetwood Mac moves south to Louisville, Kentucky for a show at the KFC YUM! Center on Thursday (tickets still available) and then performs in Chicago on Saturday night for a sold-out concert at United Center.
