Chris Nicks, younger brother of Stevie Nicks, passes away

Christopher “Chris” Nicks, the younger brother of Stevie Nicks, passed away early Friday morning following a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. His daughter, Jessica, announced the news on social media:

“It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my father, Christopher A. Nicks, early this morning, surrounded by family.

Some of you may know that he has spent the last 2.5 years battling a cancer diagnosis, and to some this may come as a shock. If this is news to you, please know it was because he never wanted people to worry about him that he kept this to himself.

I know that he has left his mark on so many people, and this will leave many more than his immediate family with a piece of them missing. I know I speak for my dad when I say that his friends, his lost boys, meant the world to him.

Rest easy, Coach. We will see you in Neverland.”

Throughout the years, Chris maintained a close relationship with Stevie, often managing merchandise on her solo tours and connecting directly with fans at the merch booth. He famously introduced Stevie on stage during her Rock a Little (1986), The Other Side of the Mirror (1989), Street Angel (1994), and Enchanted (1998) tours — a tradition previously carried out by their father, Jess. Chris also appeared in her music videos for “Talk to Me” and “I Can’t Wait,” and earned a co-songwriting credit on “The Nightmare” from the Rock a Little album.

Lori Nicks, Stevie’s longtime backing vocalist and Chris’s former wife, shared her own tribute in response to Jessica’s post:

    “Beautifully said my angel🙏
And as the mother of a very dear friend of Christopher’s said… “He loved life!” and no doubt he lived it to the fullest… Following his own rules!!!
We will all miss him, in so many ways…
He was an anomaly… And they certainly broke the mold when they created him🥰
There will never be another one like him….
    I miss you already, RD…💛🥹

Chris is survived by his daughter, Jessica James; son-in-law, Alec; grandchildren, Roman and Willow; former wife, Lori; sister, Stevie; and extended family.
