The ‘Bleeding Love,’ X-Factor singer-songwriter describes how meeting Stevie Nicks inspired her to write her new album
Leona Lewis appeared on Wednesday’s episode of CBS’s The Talk. After performing her new song “Thunder,” Lewis shared the story of meeting Stevie Nicks at a Fleetwood Mac concert rehearsal, where Stevie gave Lewis a motivational talk. Lewis describes how touched she was by Stevie’s inspiring words.
“Basically, while I writing the album (I Am), I was kind of going through some highs and lows. At the time, I got to see a Fleetwood Mac rehearsal, like it was a closed rehearsal for friends and family. I don’t know how I got it, but somehow I snuck in there. After the rehearsal, Stevie came down and she came up to me and she just hugs me and started singing my song. She said to me that the world needs to hear your music and keep going, and it just gave me a lovely motivational talk. So it was an amazing moment.”
‘My girl band would be me, Sia, Stevie, and Alicia’
Stevie Nicks’s music continues to appeal to new audiences, often crossing generations and music genres. Add to the list 30-year-old UK recording star Leona Lewis, who recently took to Twitter to answer questions from her fans. On Friday, August 28, Ben Norfolk asked Lewis if she could form a girl group, who else would be in the band? Lewis answered on the same day, naming Stevie Nicks, Sia, and Alicia Keys.
