Fleetwood Mac Fest to benefit music charities

Best Fest, an organization that stages tribute concerts for charity, has announced its latest gig. Fleetwood Mac Fest will take place February 9-10 at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theater and features a stacked lineup: Mark Ronson, Alison Mosshart (The Kills, The Dead Weather), Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction), Will Forte, and Sarah Silverman will appear at the event. Other performers slated for the shows include Joanna Newsom, Cold War Kids, KT Tunstall, Dhani Harrison, Phases, Karen Elson, and “many many more surprise guests.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and the Sweet Stuff Foundation, the latter of which is the charity of Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal’s Josh Homme. Previous Best Fest events have honored the music of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, and George Harrison; next month a recording of 2014’s George Fest hits shelves.

Tickets for the event go on sale Friday at 1 p.m. ET.
