On Wednesday night, Stevie Nicks performed at SAP Center in San Jose, CA — the 26th show of the 24 Karat Gold Tour.
Stevie has a rich history in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she attended high school and college. Stevie dedicated the show to her many friends who were in the San Jose audience, such as her first boyfriend David Young and her “best guy friend ever” Bob Fogle.
Despite living in the area for seven years as a young adult, Stevie was surprised and slightly embarrassed to learn how close to the Pacific Ocean she once lived. She shared a funny story about seeing the ocean for the first time from “a skyscraper” earlier in the day. “I said to my assistant, ‘Is that the ocean?’ And she goes, ‘Yes, it is.’ How is that possible? I have been writing about getting back to the ocean since I was 15 and a 1/2 (when Stevie moved to the Bay Area), and I had no idea that the ocean was just over the top of those buildings. Can you believe it? I could have been living by the ocean the entire time I lived here! So anyway, that is only your story.”
Much love, thanks, and gratitude to Ron Emery, Leland Kim, Connie McKee, Michelle Payne, and SAP Center for sharing your pictures!

“Last but not least, I would like to dedicate this entire show to all my friends that are here tonight — my very first boyfriend, his name is David Young, is here; my best guy friend ever, his name is Bob Fogle, is here. I’m sure there’s a lot of my friends who I don’t even know that are here, but they’re here. And so I just wanted to dedicate this whole thing to all those people that were actually there when we were putting this whole thing together in 1970 and ’69 and ’68. I don’t think we could have done it without all you guys, we wouldn’t had as much fun.
So, and lastly, but last, but not…but not leastly — new word! — take care of yourselves and be good to yourselves and just remember, you and I will, if you’re 30, talk to your 60-year-old self about how you want to be when you’re 60 and how you want to feel because it’s important, because when you get to be my age, you’ll still care — I guarantee you. So stay out of the sun, eat good food, be well, enjoy the world, and don’t forget your dream is on. Thank you very much. Thank you.”

So, @StevieNicks says "Stand Back" was written to the tune of "Little Red Corvette." I can totally hear it! My life will never be the same.
