Fleetwood Mac has put the current tour on hold to allow Stevie Nicks to recover from the flu and pneumonia.
“While she is feeling better already, management has consulted with her doctors and have decided to reschedule the remaining four shows of their North American tour to allow for her full recovery,” a rep for the band said in a statement.
Fleetwood Mac had been scheduled to fill in for the Rolling Stones at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, after the Stones had to pull out due to singer Mick Jagger’s emergency heart surgery. But then Fleetwood Mac had to pull out from the festival, after Stevie’s flu had progressed to pneumonia, requiring hospitalization. New Orleans Jazz Fest producer Quint Davis confirmed Stevie’s condition in an interview with CBS affiliate 4WWL.
“I get this call, I think it’s a Sunday morning, and it’s really a distress kind of call. Stevie’s been admitted to the hospital for pneumonia,” Davis said.
Fleetwood Mac’s four remaining North American tour dates are expected to be rescheduled for October.
