Dua Lipa samples Stevie Nicks‘ 1983 hit single “Stand Back” in “That Kind of Woman” from her upcoming Club Future Nostalgia: The Remix Album, out August 28 on Warner Bros. Records. The samples kick off the remix, a 30-second vocal loop of Stevie’s “stand-back-stand-back” chorus.
Now could the song title be a cheeky, double-entendre homage to Stevie’s own “Kind of Woman” from Bella Donna (1981)? Is the new remix celebrating the 13th anniversary of Stevie’s special “Stand Back” CD single featuring all-new club remixes, released on this day 13 years ago…coincidence? So many questions! Well, one thing is certain. Dua is that kind of woman that’ll haunt you…on the dance floor!
