Stevie Nicks

Street Angel Tour (1994)

Stevie NIcks, Street Angel Tour, Mann Music Center, Philadelphia PA, 1994In 1994, Stevie Nicks supported the release of her fifth album Street Angel with a national tour. The tour started in Mansfield, MA on July 22 and concluded in Los Angeles, CA on September 18.

For this tour, Stevie added new touring members, such as former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Rick Vito and vocalists Sara Fleetwood and Liza Jane Edwards.

Stevie made two major TV appearances during the tour. The first was The Late Show with Dave Letterman on August 2, 1994, where she performed the album’s second single “Blue Denim.” The second appearance was The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on August 24, 1994, where she performed the song again.

In between the two TV appearances, Stevie filmed the music video for “Blue Denim” at the Riverside Theater in downtown Milwaukee on August 13, 1994. The music video later aired on VH1 and was included on the DVD portion of Crystal Visions…The Very Best of Stevie Nicks (2007) with commentary of the filming from Stevie herself.

Stevie performed the following four songs from Street Angel: “Blue Denim,” “Destiny,” “Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind,” and at some shows, “Docklands.” The final show of the tour at the House of Blues in Los Angeles was recorded and rebroadcast for the Westwood One Superstars Concerts Series. She included a rare solo rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain.”
