Stevie Nicks attends Vanessa Carlton’s ‘Beautiful’ debut

Vanessa Carlton gets support from Stevie Nicks at Beautiful Broadway debut!

Vanessa Carlton made her official Broadway debut last night (June 27). The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter took a bow after portraying music star, Carole King, for the first time in front of an audience in the hit bio-musical Beautiful at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre

Vanessa was joined onstage by longtime cast members Evan Todd, Kara Lindsay, Ben Jacoby, Paul Anthony Stewart and Liz Larsen for a meaningful curtain call.

Vanessa was surprised by the support of friend and fellow music star Stevie Nicks, who attended the performance to cheer Carlton on in her first Broadway gig.

Vanessa Carlton is set to play a limited engagement through September 1.

From my journal: Thursday June 27th, 2019 The Carole King Musical Starring Vanessa Carlton Low and behold~ My girl has done it again… Tonight I attended her opening night here in New York City as Carole King. In January she and I went to see “Beautiful” to see if she wanted to try her hand at being a Broadway actress. She decided to do it and I decided she was very brave to dive into such a huge project since we are just rock and roll women. Well, I must say, I have never been so wrong. She blew my mind tonight. She WAS Carole King~ she’s a great actress~ her compassion for the part she was playing~ it was her honor to play Carole~ and I think Carole King will be very proud of my brilliant little friend of 15 years~ for throwing her heart and her soul into telling this story. I cried from the moment I got to the theatre~ until it was all over. She didn’t know I was there until I walked into her dressing room after the show. She forbid me to come actually~ and I was in Europe finishing the FM tour~ so she freaked out and so did I. Never, (except when her baby was born) have I been so proud and so happy for her. Tomorrow I leave for LA to rest for the Australian tour~ and tomorrow~ she begins a new chapter as a shooting star~ a new little star on Broadway~ someone who can bring some joy into this crazy world… I want you all to see it if you can. It will change your state of mind, heal your heart~ and bring Carole’s beautiful, beautiful songs back to life. So, good luck my sweet girl~ I can leave New York now knowing that ~ all is well~ Love, Stevie
