DEBUNKED: New album is NOT dropping in May

Stevie Nicks

Summary

Reports that Stevie Nicks’ current project, with the working title The Ghost Record, will drop in May 2026 are incorrect.

While social media speculation was fueled by an inaccurate People article claiming a May 26, 2026 release date, that information has been debunked. There is currently no confirmed release date for the project.

Don’t mark your calendars just yet: Reports of a new Stevie Nicks album arriving on May 26 are officially debunked. The rumor mill started churning after People “confirmed” a solo album titled The Ghost Record in an online feature titled Where Are the Members Fleetwood Mac Now?” but Nicks’ management has since stepped in to set the record straight. People has since updated the story, writing “Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story misstated that Stevie Nicks will be releasing an album in May; the story has been updated.”

Stereogum, which briefly ran with the story, retracted the news after learning the new album reports were “completely inaccurate.” While Nicks did tease a new solo project at last year’s Pollstar Awards, it seems The Ghost Record isn’t quite ready for its debut. For now, fans will have to catch her live at one of her three solo dates later this month.
