Stevie Nicks made several appearances on Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 2006 Highway Companion Tour. Stevie had originally planned to take the year off from performing, but when Tom asked her to accompany him for the 30th anniversary tour, Stevie jumped at the golden opportunity of performing with her good friend and all-time favorite artist.
Stevie joined Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on the first eight shows of the tour, including the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN on June 16. She also appeared at several shows in September and October 2006. Tom introduced Stevie as an “honorary Heartbreaker” when she came onstage.
During the set, Stevie performed “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” and “Insider” with Tom and covered his 1978 hit “I Need to Know,” which has become a staple in her own set lists.
