It’s official! The City of Huntsville, Alabama has proclaimed October 31 ** STEVIE NICKS DAY **. On the heels of Stevie‘s spook-tactular Halloween show at the Orion Amphitheatre, Huntsville’s Mayor Tommy Battle shared the official announcement, which declared that Stevie “provides a truly unique and inspiring music experience that enhances the quality of life for Huntsville residents and visitors.”
Stevie’s musical legacy runs deep in ‘Bama, as the locals call it. As the musical duo Buckingham Nicks, she and Lindsey Buckingham performed shows in Birmingham (100 miles south of Huntsville) during the early 1970s, supporting their first and only album, Buckingham Nicks. They found a captive audience in the Birmingham residents, who have remained loyal to the pair even after they joined Fleetwood Mac in December 1974.
