There were COVID cases within Stevie’s band, which resulted in several postponed shows. And, days before the originally-scheduled Glasgow show on July 6, Stevie fell severely ill in the middle of the night and had to be rushed to the hospital, which she explained at Tuesday’s night rescheduled show. She was apparently treated for an infection and remained at the hospital for two days. (Event organizers had previously reported the medical incident as a leg injury.) Stevie mentioned at the show that she’s been recovering from the infection ever since.

The high-profile London performance occurred on what would have been the late Christine McVie’s 81st birthday. That important milestone wasn’t lost on Stevie, who honored the passing of her dear friend during “Landslide.” “[Christine] loved all of us, today was her birthday,” she told the Hyde Park crowd. “It’s taken me all this time to try and be able to deal with this situation. That’s what I’ve been doing ever since Chris passed away, is running to the stage. The only people that have been able to help me to get over this has been all of you.”
