Stevie Nicks gets candid in an upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey, talking about music, her struggles with addiction and the recent death of her mother on Oprah’s Master Class this Sunday, March 24th.
Now you can check out this exclusive clip in which the Fleetwood Mac singer talks freely about her breakup with bandmate Lindsey Buckingham, which famously happened as the group began work on their 1977 classic Rumours.
“The band was way more important than each separate person’s problems,” Nicks says during the interview. “And we knew that. So we never, ever, with everything that happened to us, ever, let love affairs break Fleetwood Mac up. But Lindsey always blamed Fleetwood Mac for the loss of me. Had we not joined Fleetwood Mac we would’ve continued on with our music but we probably would’ve gotten married, and we probably would’ve had a child.”
This year Fleetwood Mac is celebrating the 35th anniversary of Rumours with an extensive box set reissue that saw release this past January, while on April 4th, the band will reunite for their the opening show of their first tour since 2009.
