Stevie Nicks revisits ‘Silent Night’ on ‘unusual Christmas’

Stevie Nicks revisited her 1987 recording of the Yuletide classic “Silent Night,” which closed out the very first A Very Special Christmas album. Stevie’s rendition features backup vocals from Robbie Nevil (“C’est La Vie”) and Stevie’s longtime backup singer Sharon Celani.

In 2000, Stevie recorded “Silent Night” again with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers for the A Very Special Christmas TV special. The performance was later included on A Very Special Christmas 5 in 2001.

Here are Stevie’s thoughts on the song:

I am bringing out one of my favorite things I have ever done (ever) because I think the world might need it. It is my “Silent Night” from 1987. I wrote the bridge in the middle of the song ~ and I really thought it made it more compassionate than it already was.
Please enjoy it and think of me as I will be thinking of you on this unusual Christmas.

It’s really just a love song.

Sing with me~

I will hear you…

Love,
Your Stevie
