Stevie Nicks gets a comic book

A new comic book depicting Stevie Nicks as a superhero (Female Force: Stevie Nicks) is out now from Tidalwave Productions.

Written by Michael Frizell and illustrated beautifully by Ramon Salas, the comic is a breezy read at just over 20 pages. There are actually three stories in the book, the longest and most interesting one focusing on Stevie’s early years in the band Fritz and Buckingham Nicks. The other two stories — very short ones — start and end the book: a nude, horse-riding queen named Rhiannon living in medieval times and, fast-forward a thousand years, a Stevie Nicks impersonator paying tribute to her mom. It appears the author was trying to capture three distinctive areas of the Stevie Nicks experience.

Book description: Rolling Stone named her the “reigning queen of rock and roll” and named her one of the 100 greatest songwriters of all time. She’s been honored by the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame — twice, received eight Grammy nominations, and won two as a solo artist and one with her band, Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks’ passion and unrelenting drive to succeed as an artist are explored in this new comic book from TidalWave Comics. After reading it, we think you’ll agree that Nicks is a “Female Force.”
