On Thursday, Miley Cyrus was a virtual guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Miley talked about her latest single, “Midnight Sky,” in which she sampled Stevie Nicks’ 1981 rock anthem “Edge of Seventeen.” Jimmy asked Miley about the sample, to which Miley revealed she had received “the coolest letter ever from Stevie.” Not only did Stevie give her blessing for “Edge,” but she took it one step further by writing “you can borrow from me anytime.”
Sporting a look reminiscent of an early Pat Benatar, Miley performed “Midnight Sky” on the show.

Blues guitarist Peter Green, one of the co-founders of Fleetwood Mac, has died at the age of 73. Green recorded three albums with Fleetwood Mac from 1967 to 1969 (Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, Mr. Wonderful, and Then Play On) before leaving the band in 1970. He is best known for writing the singles “Oh Well (Part I & II),” “Black Magic Woman” (later popularized by Santana), and “Albatross,” which reached No. 1 in the UK.
Green’s family released the following statement: “It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Green announce his death this weekend, peacefully in his sleep. A further statement will be provided in the coming days.”
Peter Green was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Fleetwood Mac in 1998.
Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, John Mayall, and others shared the following online tributes to Peter Green.
For me, and every past and present member of Fleetwood Mac, losing Peter Green is monumental! Peter was the man who started the band Fleetwood Mac along with myself, John McVie, and Jeremy Spencer. No one has ever stepped into the ranks of Fleetwood Mac without a reverence for Peter Green and his talent, and to the fact that music should shine bright and always be delivered with uncompromising passion!!!
Peter,
I will miss you, but rest easy your music lives on. I thank you for asking me to be your drummer all those years ago. We did good, and trail blazed one hell of a musical road for so many to enjoy.
God speed to you, my dearest friend…….
Love Mick Fleetwood

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Peter Green. My biggest regret is that I never got to share the stage with him. I always hoped in my heart of hearts that that would happen. When I first listened to all the Fleetwood Mac records, I was very taken with his guitar playing. It was one of the reasons I was excited to join the band. His legacy will live on forever in the history books of Rock n Roll. It was in the beginning, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac and I thank you, Peter Green, for that. You changed our lives…

It’s a sad day, saying goodbye to Peter Green, cofounder of Fleetwood Mac along with John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. RIP Peter Green.

Rupert Hine, British music producer, has died at 72, according to a tweet from The Ivors Academy where he served as Board Director. Rupert produced Stevie Nicks’ fourth solo album, The Other Side of the Mirror (1989), a concept record inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Rupert and Stevie dated for a short time; their relationship was the subject of Stevie’s Billboard Top 20 single “Rooms on Fire,” also a No 1. Billboard Rock Track. In her 1991 Timespace compilation liner notes, Stevie described their instant connection: “It always seemed to be that whenever Rupert walked into one of those rooms…that the rooms were on fire. There was a connection between us that everyone around us picked up on, and everyone was very careful to respect our space…our Timespace.”
Stevie’s 1989 album The Other Side of the Mirror featured a more whimsical sound, a sonic landscape that Rupert Hine had created with keyboard-driven arrangements. In addition to the Top 40 “Room on Fire,” the album also featured standout cuts “Long Way to Go,” “Ooh My Love,” and the blues rocker “Whole Lotta Trouble.”
During his long music career, Rupert Hine also worked on material for The Fixx (1981’s Shuttered Room and 1984’s Reach the Beach), Rush, (1989’s Presto and 1991’s Roll the Bones), and Howard Jones, (1985′ Dream into Action) among many others.
Rupert Hine’s friends and colleagues have tweeted warm tributes of the talented musician, songwriter, and producer.
Billboard has published an obituary for Rupert Hine.
We are so saddened to post that our Board Director Rupert Hine has passed away.
Rupert played an integral part in shaping the organisation, and his passion, wisdom, inspiration and his immense kindness will be hugely missed.

Crowded House lead singer Neil Finn has released a new song “Find Your Way Back Home” featuring his Fleetwood Mac bandmates Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, and Michael Campbell. The song benefits Auckland City Mission: Homeground and Auckland’s homeless community.
Listen here: https://neilfinn.lnk.to/FindYourWay.
I was honoured to be asked to write a song – Find Your Way Back Home – to support the fundraising for an amazing new building in New Zealand. It’s called HomeGround and is being developed by the Auckland City Mission to create a path for many of our people to find their way back home.
I was so grateful to have the talent and support of my Fleetwood Mac bandmates Stevie, Christine and Mike, along with my son Elroy and fellow Kiwi singer Georgia Nott, to help me make this recording.
Stream the song here with all royalties going to the Mission.
I have always been aware of how important the City Mission is in our community, representing and supporting every day the homeless people of Auckland. Now more than ever, as we shelter in place I am reminded that everyone deserves to have a home where they can feel safe and be well.
I hope you enjoy this recording of Find Your Way Back Home. To find out more about the incredible building or make a donation, go to Auckland City Mission: Homeground.

The memory is easy
Somehow I never got to say farewell to you
It’s been a long, lonely path for you
I was keeping all my thoughts inside
When I saw you on the street tonight
(Ooh ooh…)
Oh my, it’s like staring at an empty page
When the story’s gonna have to be laid
Hoping that you find your way
I’m hoping that you find your way back
Hoping that you find your way back home in time
In your own time
We are related
I could be the one that could clear a path for you
(I could clear a path)
Instead of the one that would look away from you
Have a mind if you care
Love will always find you there
(Ooh ooh…)
Coming in on a wing and a prayer
Hoping that you find your way
I’m hoping that you find your way back
Hoping that you find your way back home in time
(In time…)
I’m helping you to find your way
Knowing that you’ll get there one day
Helping you to find your way back home in your own time
In your own time
Someone I knew
I’m sending out a smile to you
Helping you to find your way
Helping you to find your way back home
Helping you to find your way
You’re gonna find your way back home
Sooner or later
(Find your way…)
You are the one that could clear a path
Come on home, baby
(Find your way…)
One of these days it’ll come to pass
Sooner or later
(Find your way…)
No, you’re gonna find your way back home
Knowing that you’re gonna way your way
Sooner or later

Today is Stevie’s 72nd birthday. “The lady from the mountain” looks about 20 years younger at certain angles, so it’s no surprise that fans marvel at her seemingly ageless appearance year after year. We know that staying out of the sun and using the finest skincare products is part of her secret. So we’re still pining for perhaps a “Crystalline Knowledge” or “The Other Side of the Mirror” beauty line! In the meantime, enjoy some Stevie fabulousness below.
Happy Birthday, Stevie ~ you’re the poet in our hearts!
