Fleetwood Mac is expected to release tour dates on Wednesday. The newest incarnation of the immortal band — which drops guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and adds singer-songwriter Neil Finn and guitarist Michael Campbell (from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) — will hit the stage this fall with a full-fledged world tour.

CBS This Morning interviewer Anthony Mason shared the following picture of the band on his Twitter page.

On her official site, Vanessa shared the following thoughts about recording the classic Stevie Nicks-penned track:

“This song is epic. I feel like a lot of people don’t attempt to cover Fleetwood Mac because the personality of these songs are so distinct. I admit, I was terrified to do this, but I sang Dreams on stage at a BMI event honoring Stevie Nicks. I was 7 weeks pregnant at the time. No one knew. I got to sing the song with Stevie’s band, which was pretty great. Waddy Wachtel, the musical director gave me “the nod” during rehearsal. Which, I think meant he approved. Or, at least, I’m praying that’s what it meant.

I knew the only way I could honor this song was to get an amazing band. My friend Patrick Hallahan (My Morning Jacket) is one of my favorite drummers. He lives in Louisville and despite being super busy, woke up early, drove to Nashville, played the song and drove home. All before noon. The gorgeous harmonies were done by the Watson Twins, Nashville locals, who are also from Louisville. And the guitars were all done by Adam Landry, who also produced the track. We sent the song to Stevie for approval, and we got the seal. Dream team!”

Here’s the full audio of Vanessa’s cover of “Dreams.”

On April 11, Vanessa shared a teaser video of her rendition on YouTube.

Fleetwood Mac shines at MusiCares Person of the Year all-star bash

Fleetwood Mac was the guest of honor at Friday night’s MusiCares Person of the Year tribute and fundraiser gala at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Leading the tributes was an all-star cast of VIPs, including Lorde, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, and former President of the United States Bill Clinton, who famously used Fleetwood Mac’s song “Don’t Stop” for his 1992 presidential campaign song. Clinton honored the band at Friday’s award ceremony.

During the acceptance speech, Stevie Nicks formally eulogized her good friend and musical collaborator Tom Petty, who passed away unexpectedly last October.

“The loss of Tom Petty has just about broken my heart. He was not only a good man to go ‘down the river’ with, as Johnny Cash said, but he was a great father and a great friend. He was one of my best friends. My heart will never get over this.

“He was not well and he fought his way through that tour. He should have canceled. He should have just gone home and go to the hospital. But not Tom, he was going to go down that river.”

  • Harry Styles, Lorde, Haim to honor Fleetwood Mac at MusiCares gig

Harry Styles, Lorde, Haim to honor Fleetwood Mac at MusiCares gig

Classic line-up of band will also give a special performance at Radio City Music Hall event

In January, Fleetwood Mac will become the first band to receive the MusiCares Person of the Year Award. Harry Styles, Lorde, Haim and many other artists influenced by the group will gather at Radio City Music Hall two days before the 60th Annual Grammy Awards to pay tribute to the band with a special concert.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be the first band to receive the MusiCares Person of the Year award,” Mick Fleetwood wrote in a statement. “Independently and together, we all set off on a journey to spend our lives as artists, songwriters and musicians. None of us did it alone and there were plenty of helping hands along the way, so we applaud and celebrate MusiCares’ guiding principles of giving musicians a helping hand and a place to turn in times of need.”

Taking place on January 26th, the band’s most classic line-up — Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie and John McVie — will perform together at the show. John Legend, OneRepublic and Keith Urban have also been announced as artists honoring the group with covers of classic songs off albums like Rumours, Fleetwood Mac, Tusk and Tango in the Night.

Proceeds from this benefit gala will provide financial and medical support as well as other personal needs to musicians. Ticket packages range from $17,500 to $75,000 and include multiple seats, gifts and more. Individual seats range in price from $1,750 to $8,500.

Past recipients have included Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and, most recently, Tom Petty.

Fleetwood Mac was named MusiCares Person of the Year back in July.

Fleetwood Mac’s Leibovitz RS cover featured in ‘The Photo Issue’

Fleetwood Mac’s (in)famous Annie Leibovitz photograph (March 24, 1977) appears in the November 2, 2017 issue of Rolling Stone (Tom Petty: 1950-2017/The Photo Issue).

Fleetwood Mac posed for their first ROLLING STONE cover shortly before Rumours took over the world. But the romantic turmoil they laid bare on that album also made Annie Leibovitz’s idea for the shoot — the whole band, together on a bed — tricky. Christine McVie didn’t want to be near her ex, John McVie, and Stevie Nicks didn’t want to be besides Lindsey Buckingham. Nicks ended up in Mick Fleetwood’s arms — a hint of a torrid affair to come. “I don’t know how healthy all this display of our personal life was,” said Buckingham. “But that’s showbiz.”

Chloe Kohanski rocks ‘The Chain’ for The Voice blind auditions

Channeling Stevie in a dramatic white-winged-dove-esque fringe jacket, Chloe Kohanski rocked Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” during Monday night’s blind auditions on The Voice.

Chloe’s husky-voiced performance earned chair turns from three of the four coaches — Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton. After deliberating a bit, Chloe chose Miley as her coach. Revealing that she “kind of aspired to be like Stevie,” Miley may have influenced Chloe’s decision ever so slightly.

Harry Styles covers ‘The Chain’ for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

Harry Styles has covered Fleetwood Mac’s rock anthem “The Chain” (from Rumours) for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.

“[It’s] a risky one,” Styles explained. “We’re doing ‘The Chain’ by Fleetwood Mac. I’m just such a massive fan of them as a band and of the music. I feel like everyone in the band sings and it kind of felt like something we could cover vocally so we should try it and then we really loved it.”
